XHTML
Today, the W3C recommends XHTML as the current standard for a web pages' markup language. XHTML is the successor to the commonly known HTML.
Since internet capable devices, such as internet tablets, iPhones, Blackberrys and other mobile devices, the need for a streamlined, more efficient language was needed for less powerful CPU resources commonly found on smaller gadgets. XHTML allows your site to be viewed on today's newest computers, small mobile phones as well as legacy devices and computers.
CSS
The use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is recommended by the W3C for nearly every aspect of web design. That's because the best CSS designs are accessible, flexible and adaptable. CSS is the successor to using tables to control layout. To see why CSS is the new industry standard for making your sites look great, please vist CSS Zen Garden.
